Too easy to get wrong
- Documentation is often outdated or missing
 - Access is often restricted, with lines being routed through bulkheads, under decks or gratings and in locations that make them difficult to trace and confirm
 - Experienced personnel are leaving the industry. Necessary expertise is not always available which increases the risk of human error
 - Pipework of same size, material and visual condition is easy to misidentify
 - As-Build work is not budgeted for or is neglected
 - Many surveys are repeated un-necessarily
 - Incomplete digital record of infrastructure on assets for visibility
 - Processes are seldom standardised and require simplifying to achieve accurate and consistent results
 - There is a real desire to reduce carbon emissions and existing processes will not achieve this
